18th Century Art
The 1700 is definitely the Age of Enlightenment, in contrast to the Baroque, because in this century is the recovery of lightness of the forms and of the color brightness. The task of art is no longer to make accessible to all religious bodies and the imitation of nature, art must be
autonomous, freeing themselves from each end. In Italy the major authors are Piazzetta, Giovanni BattistaTiepolo, Canaletto, Giuseppe Maria Crespi, Francesco Guardi, while in France, the most famous are Boucher, Fragonard, Chardin and Liotard.
