The exhibition, a ‘must see’ for everyone with an appreciation for art and culture, marks the 400th year since the master of chiaroscuro and realism Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio came to our island and will include over 25 key works of early baroque painting in Malta.
The exhibition includes three paintings by Caravaggio, The only signed masterpiece, The Beheading of St. John, St Jerome and The Portrait of a Knight which was loaned by Palazzo Pitti in Florence for the occaision.
The exhibition is taking place with the help of The Italian Ambassador to Malta as well as the University of Malta.
