The 126 items in this exhibition, including 118 drawings for scenery and costumes for the court masques of James I and Charles I, a portrait bust, 5 stage set models, and 2 costume reconstructions, were lent by the Duke of Devonshire and the trustees of the Chatsworth settlement. Objects in the exhibition had been shown at Chatsworth during the summers of 1965 and 1966.
