(A critical and historical Corpus of Florentine Painting by Richard Offner and Klara Steinweg continued under the direction of Miklos Boskovits and Mina Gregori - Section IV, volume VIII ).
This title has been chose for this volume of the Corpus, devoted to the work of two masters mainly active in the second half of the fourteenth century. Giovanni Bonsi and Master of Santa Verdiana belong to different generations, but, at least for a decade, between the secon half of 1360s and the beginning of the 1370s, their careers ran parallel to each other, producing at times rather similar results, so much so as to suggest, in one case, the attribution to the former of a work by the latter.
