16th Century Art
With the decline of Florence, because of internal struggles for the city, began to develop two other centers of Italian culture: Rome and Venice. Is here that the greatest artists will converge in 1500, thanks to prominent families and the Church, which will begin to collect works of art classic.
In Rome, working artists such as Raffaello and Michelangelo and their students, while in various parts of Italy will be born the first Academies devoted to the study design and of the three leading exponents of Renaissance: Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raffaello.
Mannerism born through the reworking of the way of painting, believed to be perfect, of the great masters whose two most important representatives will be Pontormo and Parmigianino. While in the Veneto region of the greatest exponents of the art of this period will be Giorgione, Tiziano, Paolo Veronese and Tintoretto.
