Howard Hodgkin's prints represent an extraordinary body of work, a parallel and very different achievement from his paintings. They have been internationally celebrated and passionately collected. This is a major comprehensive survey and catalogue raisonne. In her introduction, Nan Rosenthal discusses Hodgkin's career as a printmaker. This is followed by an in-depth essay by Liesbeth Heenk charting the different phases in Hodgkin's printmaking from 1953 through to 2002, and an interview by Heenk with the artist. These three sections are lavishly illustrated with over 80 colour plates. The catalogue raisonne includes over 100 published prints, two books illustrated with Hodgkin's prints, three uneditioned prints and eleven limited edition reproductive prints.
